Open Question: My computer keeps asking me to "format disk in drive F: before you can use it," when nothing is in drive F:?

Go to Start and type Disk management in the search box. In the window that opens do you see a drive F:?
A couple of thought: it could be a problem of Windows remembering some USB device that was once plugged in to the computer
If you use a virtual disc program like PowerISO or daemon tools you may have a virtual drive enabled that is being read improperly.
