Open Question: When is the next generation of video cards releasing?

Firstly, I always go with Nvidia. Their tend to drivers run better and they have PhysX where AMD does not.

But don't expect anything to come out anytime soon. There isn't any dates set and the last time Nvidia set a release day for the fermi cards (their last big upgrade), the missed it by like a year.

However, the current market is full of super high performance video cards which are exponentially better than only a couple year ago. This is due to the dual GPU trend where a single video card has 2 GPU's.

If you want something that is 'next generation' look at those.

Some examples are:
Nvidia GTX 590
Nvidia eVGA GTX 460 '2Win'
Radeon HD 6990

Also, you could consider using SLI or Crossfire technologies which use 2 video cards at the same time. This gets the same effect as those cards listed about to but instead of 1 card you have 2.
