Open Question: I'm building a laptop through Toshiba, is a Solid State hard drive worth getting?

They have no moving parts, so they're faster, and are much less likely to be damaged if you drop your laptop.

But the cost per GB is a lot more compared to a conventional hard drive.

If I were you, I would only do it on a smaller more portable machine, where the amount of space is less important, but robustness is more important.
