Open Question: Alienware m18x CF 6970M vs Sager NP7280 SLI 485M?

I'm not really familiar with the SAGER brand & just started looking into their line-up this morning.

If the Sager caries the GTX 485M graphics, was it the SLI enabled?

The 6970 CrossFireX is a new product out to match the 485M's performance.

The Sager also carries the 1st Generation Core i-7 Extreme Edition while the Alienware you customized caries the 2nd Generation Core i-7 2820QM with Turbo Boost can up to 3.4GHz which is faster than the 1st Generation Extreme Edition (Though if you will shed about $625 more, you can have the overclocked Core i-7 2920XM Extreme Edition that goes up to 4GHz, then just get the same 1333MHz 16MHz RAM like those on the Sager).

I'm just not into lugging around the heavy 17-18" laptops. But if you're a big guy, it's not really a bother for you. So, it all comes down to price.
If I were to pick, I'll get the Alienware, with 4GB more RAM & an Extreme Edition Core i-7, which makes the computer operate smooth & fast, plus get the 4years Advanced Plan which guarantees you 4 years of care free playing. Did you know that my mentor had a soldier who called in for Dell support b'coz he was sent to war in Iraq & his laptop got hit by the enemy's bullet, & DELL replaced the whole laptop brand new. Try to learn more about this service so that if something really really bad happened to your laptop in 45months time, you'll get a brand new one.

Additional info, read on:
A brand new computer's battery comes w/ a Standard 1yr Limited Warranty w/c means the expected life time of battery is only 1 year. Same thing goes for the charger.
So, if you don't know how to take care of it, it will die out on you sooner than than expected.

FYI: I always tell my customers, a laptop's battery is similar to a cell phone's. You charge it when it's depleted & you unplug the adapter when it is already fully charge (this will prevent the battery from getting overcharged & extend the life of the battery). So for less hassle, I always advice my customers to JUST REMOVE THE BATTERY IF THEY PLAN TO USE THE COMPUTER FOR LONG HOURS STRAIGHT (more than 1 hour) and just run it on AC power alone so as not to overcharge it & shorten the battery life.
ONLY USE THE BATTERY FOR PORTABILITY, if you need to go on a trip or you're at McDonalds or Starbucks.

For chargers, make sure you don't stretch out the cable too much that the one by the power jack that you plug into the side of the computer gets bent. Make sure this part is always straight or else the copper wires inside will break & soon you'll have the problem of the charger not working anymore like what happened to some of my callers.

Are you a game enthusiasts playing for long hours? Get a COOLER MASTER U2 Notebook Cooler w/c has dual purposes. Cool thing about it is that you can position the fans on the right spot for better ventialation. When travelling, detach the easily detacheable dual fan, & you can use the aluminum frame as a protection for your laptop's LCD screen when inside the bag. I got mine from MicroCenter.com for 48% cheaper than the regular $24.99 tag (FRYS.com SKU#: 6344931).
