My friend told me to build my own computer as I would save me money. He said it would be easy as all I would have to do is follow videos on youtube. I am installing the processor ATM and I cant get the lever down. I pressed hard on it as I was told not to be afraid of it but I think I have pressed to hard as I heard a cracking noise and am frightened I might have damaged something.

I dont know whats wrong. I followed the video correctly, lining the arrow up etc, but it doesnt sit right and the lever wont close.
