Open Question: Which harddrive has on average a longer lifespan: a 2,5 or a 3,5"?

I want to assemble a NAS in a regular computer case. If you really want, you can stack up to 4 2,5" hard-drives in one 5,25 bay. So a tiny case would suffice to get those 4 hard-drives in.

But on general term, which hard-drive has on average a longer lifespan, a 2,5 or a 3,5"?
(note: I do not intend to leave the NAS 24/7 on. It's purpose is to backup all my important file 4 times)
