Open Question: My desktop computer is making loud beeping noises. Why?

When my computer starts up, it makes a loud beeping noise like it normally does. All computers are like that.

For some reason my computer seems to making that beeping noise when I play ANY game or use any application that uses a bit of RAM.
It can't be overheating, the fans are dust free and working, because I cleaned them.

Games that the computer is having a problem with:
Angry Birds (REALLY!?)
Runescape
Halo CE
Stepmania

Those are like my only PC games. Any windows application that uses a lot of computer RAM also causes this noise. i.e. Skype when it crashes.

I made sure everything is plugged in and I am not sure what the problem is...

Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 (32 bit)
1.5 Gb of ram
Over 120 gigs left of hard drive space
Nvidia 7300 GT (Video Card)

Open Question: desktop game PC.Battlefield bad company 2 mutiplayer serial?

Home >All Categories > Computers & Internet >Hardware >Desktops >Open QuestionIan Ian Member since:March 15, 2011Total points:21 (Level 1)i have recently bought almsot new cd of ths game from ebay//i manage to have the serial key to work on single player but when i sign up for mutiplayer it says serial key has already been regestered? if so that the previous user did play it online... how can i reset this serial so i can make a new account? so i can play online. pls help i want to play online plsAnswer Question

Aaron U. by Aaron U. Member since:April 23, 2007Total points:11,076 (Level 6)Yes, it means the serial is in use by the previous owner, or it's a pirated key. One of the two. No, there is no "resetting a key." If it's already been registered by someone, then it's considered in use, and obviously registered. That is why you're getting the error. You need to purchase a new copy of the game and register the new serial to your account, period. You obviously can't use a serial that's already been used and registered. No other way around it. You have to buy the game new, not used.JoelKatz by JoelKatz Member since:May 14, 2008Total points:112,138 (Level 7)When you buy a game used, you do not buy the right to play it online. If the seller represented that you would be getting this, complain to them.

Open Question: Trying to download desktop game, won't work. Help?

Open Question: Trying to download desktop game, won't work. Help?

I bought Sims Life stories the other day. At first I downloaded the game onto my brothers laptop (Dell Insprion) and it's always been working perfectly. Today I tried downloading it to my laptop (also a Dell Inspiron) and it won't work. When I try to open the game it asks if I want to allow the computer to make changes. I click yes and it does nothing. I troubleshooted the problem and it says there's an incompatible document or something. I have no idea how to fix this.

I just got my laptop back from the computer store, they got rid of a virus would that be a problem?

Open Question: Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop Frozen With No Icons?

Open Question: Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop Frozen With No Icons?

Home >All Categories > Computers & Internet >Hardware >Desktops >Open Questionvalerie m valerie m Member since:June 14, 2008Total points:1 (Level 1)We have a optiplex 755 desktop PC at work and I just recently reinstalled the os which is xp. I have added the pc to our domain at work as well and everything seemed fine the first day, but the next day I noticed I could not remotely log into the PC and I could ping it but I could not remote in. I went to look at the pc and noticed that it was on but there was just the desktop backgound screen, I could move the cursor around but nothing else. When I say blank desktop, I mean it only shows the desktop and thats it, not any icons and the start button. I tried to do Ctrl+Alt+Del but that did nothing. I eventually just had to turn the PC off by the power button after it shut off about a second later it showed numbers 3 and 4 lite up on the tower and just shutdown. Once I turned it back on then everything came up fine, but I did notice once I typed in my windows login it took several seconds before it logged on, once logged on then everything was fine. I checked on it through out the day and about 5 hours later I noticed there was a blank desktop screen again and I had to turn it off by the power button I made sure that my network cable was plugged in and patched right. You would think if it were an network problem that I would not be able to ping it at all. When the blank blue screen appears it is still on the network because I can ping it. Also I have reinstalled the XP OS a couple of times and still no luck. The thing that is crazy is that a couple of weeks ago I had the dell tech come out and replace the motherboard and hard drive so I should not be having problems with this PC. Can anybody offer me any advice?Answer Question
