Open Question: My 8gb flash memory only shows 256 mb !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I used Win32 Disk Imager program to write the image on memory.but after I erased it in Windows I saw it has only just 265mb capacity.please help me. i'm freaked out!!!Answer Question
