Open Question: Computer attachment ?

Probably a network card.

Is this an old Desktop? If it is it won't have an ethernet connection.

In other words a cable comes out of the wall. It attaches to a modem. Out of the modem comes a cat-5 or 6 ethernet cord that attaches to your computer. It either attaches to an onboard motherboard connection or to a network card that attaches to the motherboard.

Check the link below.
Do you know the make and model of your computer? Add additional details so I can be sure of this answer and I will repost.

More importantly do you know any tech geeks?

Added: Who is your internet provider? Is it cable or what?
