I use my 42in TV HDTV 1080i as my monitor for my laptop. I had my older laptop hooked up always, and just got a brand new laptop, same brand with Windows 7 and for some reason, after about 3 minutes of being displayed on the TV its shuts off, as if you weren't touching your computer for a while and it times out. Except i'll be using the computer and all of a sudden it shuts off. I've gone to screen resolution, pressed connect to projector and it will display on my TV, then shut off. I've altered the resolution to a lower level, but then the picture is all messed up on my TV, but when its all messed up looking, it doesn't shut off???
I'm so confused and frustrated!!!! Can anyone help me? I'm not the most tech smart person in the world and would really appreciate someone taking the time to help me make my TV work as the monitor for my new laptop with Windows 7!

correction: my tv doesnt shut off, it just turns blue and says no signal
I'm using a vga cord to connect the laptop to the tv
