Open Question: What laptop should I purchase?

I want something good looking, nothing fancy or super "wow", just something plain with mabie a bit of a design on the casing. I need at least 4GB of RAM and a minimun of 300GB, the more the better. It doesn't necessarily need to be lightweight and as portable as most laptops, but heavyduty is a must, as it's going to be used around the clock. The battrey life doesn't have to be super good, but if it does have a good battrey life when on energy saving mode, you'd hear no complains by me.

I'd definetly need wifi and a disk-drive (no MacBook Air). If I were to narrow down the search I'd probably say no Dell or Mac (already have an Apple and basically I'm only using Win on it).

I'd also need the laptop to be "big" from 15.5", as I'm not a fan of netbooks. Preferably only mainstream brands, and that have a good relaibility factor, as I don't own a car and can't take it to repairs all the time. I also need it mainstream as I live in Malta, and I have mixed feelings about buying thecnology from eBay.

My budget is anything up to $2,500 or €1,700. Obviously, I'm looking for a good product, so i don't want to go cheap, but, if it's less than the given price that wont be a problem :) If it's more expensive I'd still consider it!

Thanks in advance! :)
