Open Question: Laptop problem freezes in boot up?

9:07 AM Posted by Anonymous

When you start up your laptop, tap the F8 key while it is loading until you get to a boot menu.
Once there you should be able to choose an option called Safe Mode.
Select it, hit enter, and see if your computer boots up fine.

If it does, it means that there is a program or service running on your computer that is causing it to freeze.

If you are still having the problem in safe mode, it may mean that you have a hardware problem. Freezing can be directly related to many things: failing hard drive, failed memory module, overheating, failed processor, and others.

Either way, you may need to take it to a technician for further evaluation, but whatever you figure out by doing this can help he/she in the long run.
