Buy a VGA (Video graphics array) cable and plug this into your laptop and your TV if it has the port. then right click on your desktop and go to screen resolution, there should be a second display in the window, however you will need a different cable to transfer the audio to the TV unless your fine playing the audio through your laptop.

You might also have to use the TV menu to switch to an option that is PC or Component or S-Video
