Actually its a decent card you should be able to get Medium to low high settings with this.
Its a Mid range card, supports Dx 11. You shouldn't have 2 much of a problem

A word of advice, try look at these companies and making your own, and see if its cheaper. You may get something better

currently i have a 320gb external hard drive that i only used for my win xp computer. but, when i plug that into my leopard macbook pro it can only read the files and not copy them to my macbook pro internal hard drive or add files from my macbook pro on to the hard drive-why?

anyway, what i want to do it transfer all the 320gb files onto a 1.5tb hard drive
(but for the 1.5tb hard drive i want to partition it = 500gb for windows based files and 1tb for mac based---but how? i am not sure how to make a partition.)
then i want to use the remaining 1tb for my mac and specifically for time machine -is this possible? and lastly, i want to clear the 320gb completely and make it an exclusive external hard drive for the mac, using it for carbon copy clone -is this possible?

the reason for all these back ups is because i want to install snow leopard and make sure i have everything backed up -double backed up- preferably 1) on the 1tb partition of the 1.5tb hard drive (using time machine) AND on the 320gb hard drive (using carbon copy clone)- after i transfer all the files to the 500gb partition of the 1.5tb hard drive. make sense? sorry for the confusion.

here's my deal: i am currently running Mac OS X Leopard on a mid-2009 macbook pro(my first Mac ever- freaking LOVE IT!). i want to upgrade to Snow Leopard (not Lion as of yet) but before i do that i have been told to backup my internal hard drive.
so, because i do not want to lose anything on my mac (thing like movies, music, and more importantly documents, applications/programs and settings configured to my liking) i plan on getting 2 hard drives. the first- a 1tb or 1.5tb desktop hard drive. and the second- a 500gb portable hard drive.

WHAT MY QUESTION IS- can i use the portable hard drive (that might be connected for the majority of the time) with Apples TIME MACHINE -updating constantly? Then use the desktop hard drive with Clone Carbon Copy -to make boot-able/mirrored clones once a week or so?

Will there be any conflict? is this the right way to go (2 hard drive, 2 different backup programs)? do you have a better way of doing this?- a message board person recommended Raid 1 but i have no idea what that is and how to use that. Also, for the either external hard drive runnin CCC or TM- after backing up, if i take the hard drive to a friends house and want to copy music/movies/docs/whatever on to my hard drive, can i still use it as a plug and play hard drive for storage?

moUnfortunately though external graphics card were originally planned by Nvidia it never panned out. Most likely within 2 - 3 years it may become a reality. The problem was the port speed with USB 2.0 was 2 slow. Now that Thunderbolt ports have come this does give access to the PCI Port which would allow such things as external graphics cards to become reality. But that also means you would have to buy a new laptop.

As of now, there is no such things as external graphics cards. You will have to live with what you bought, untill you can buy a better laptop.

No really that card support 4 monitors in an Efinity , but if you are planning to buy a new board then getting one that does is even better even if you don't get another video card , it will provide at least 2 more PCIe X 16 slots and not necesarilly you need to use it in crossfire those ports can be use it for other types of cards, even do hd 6950 is 2.1 , it works fine in a 2.0 port , Croosfire is for hardcore gamers .Answerer 2

No, if you are not planning to crossfire, then any motherboard that supports the pci 2.1 x16 slots (and even x8 slots probably) will work.

Laptop won't boot, have to go into recovery, quit the recovery in order to boot..... help!?
Whenever I turn on my laptop, it fails to boot... Right after the option screen, it gives me a black screen with the following

when I press a key, it repeats the whole process and fails to boot.....

I always have to keep pressing during the initial screen to bring up the recovery screen, exit from the recovery (without actually recovering the comp) in order to boot..

And sometimes doesn't work, even when I keep pressing it, it brings back that black screen... then I would have to turn off the laptop and turn it on and …

If I'm lucky, it boots.....

My laptop is a Gateway, 6 years old......

I tried recovering it using my recovery disks, but shortly after it goes back to starting with the black screen that doesn't boot anything......

What to do?? Is it worth fixing or do I need to get a new laptop?

Save the changes to the BIOS and then move the cable from the onboard plug to the card plug and restart the system. The new card should now show up.

Your motherboard is not the issue.. per se. It is your cpu/processor

You would need a 64 bit processor which most likely would need a different motherboard and new ram.. You would be better off getting a new laptop.

Yes, first u need to use some software to partition your hard disk. Then, after you have done that.

If you have windows 7 installed. Insert XP CD. If you have XP installed, insert windows 7 CD. Then in installation options of the CD, click INSTALL ON 2nd Partition.
