There is no conceivable way "too much data" can cause a computer to make noise. The noises are either coming from a fan or the hard drive. If they're coming from the fan, the sound should change when the fan changes speed. If they're coming from the hard drive, the hard drive is going to die.

If your computer is working now and you don't have a backup of anything you care about, back it up *now*. Seriously, right this second. Also, if the Windows license sticker is not legible, use program like SiW to read out the license key and write it down in a safe place. Do this *now*. I'll wait.
