Open Question: Should I get a Macbook or Macbook Air?

I noticed that the new MacBook Airs and plastic MacBooks are the same price. I was really impressed with the MacBook Air's features and that is what I have put my mind to. I only want to spend $999 but I'm scared that I won't have enough memory on the MacBook Air, because my main priority on one of these laptops is video editing, and I might just use too much space, which is why I'm considering a regular plastic MacBook, which I don't really like.
