Will I actually make up for that in the 2-3 years I use this processor. I plan for this to be an always on system, but I will only be taxing it occasionally. The i5-2400s is more expensive and less powerful, so that is why I'm curious.Answer Question

Ruben by Ruben Member since:January 02, 2008Total points:1,418 (Level 3)30 watts is very little, it wont make a difference. I would say get the 2400, it is more powerful, but a little bit more expensive.Wozza by Wozza Member since:February 20, 2011Total points:1,149 (Level 3)its not just about the output (GHz) which is what most people compare instantly just like RAM, HDD etc. but its not just that, considering a 2nd generation on the Intel 'i' range (i3, i5, i7) has recently been relased, the 2400s which is more expensive and less powerful, may be of 2nd generation and may use some software in the 2nd gen ones that makes it more efficient therefore actually making it more powerful, it may also be smaller, lighter, better fan (which may be necessary if your always on it) and i think that it would be worth it in the end
