Open Question: Designing a performance gaming laptop on a tight budget.?
I'm trying to customize a laptop that can run Wow (really the only game I play online) as good as possible for as little as possible. In doing some research, I've decided that dual core is gonna be the way for me to go. Quad's more than what I need, single CPU isn't enough. I also know that I want an nVIDIA GT 430M graphics card or something that can compare (suggestions more than welcome). I'm looking at at least 350GB of disk space, 2GB of RAM, 15" screen, good speakers a definitely plus. Don't really care about battery life and other non-performance related specs.
What I don't know is: with my gaming being limited to WoW, which isn't as graphics intensive as other online games, can I get away with an i3 dual core and put more money into the graphics card? If the i5 is a must, I'll go with it, but I haven't found anything that conclusively says the i3 dual core won't get the job done. How important is the auto overclocking in the i5?
